Who can ride?
* Those possessing a valid drivers license; or

          * If the rider is under 16 years of age, must be accompanied by a rider 18 years or older who possesses a valid drivers license.

 

  What type of vehicles are allowed on ORV trails at Wayne National Forrest?

 

          * All-terrain vehicles 50 inches in width or less.

 

         * Current license, and Ohio all-purpose vehicle (APV) registration/license required. Out-of-state visitors must purchase either a temporary registration or a standard Ohio motorized registration from the Ohio BMV.(amended on June 30, 2005). Ohio APV registration is available at the nearest Bureau of Motor Vehicles office:

 

         * Permits are required for trail users who are 16 years and older who possess a current valid driver’s license (must show driver’s license at time of purchase). A valid drivers license or temporary instruction permit to operate a motorcycle is required at the point of purchase for anyone over the age of 16 to purchase an "All-purpose" trail permit.

 

         * According to State of Ohio law, all APV owners, regardless of age, are required to register their APVs with the State Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) before they can ride on public lands (state or federal lands). Riders under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a valid licensed motor vehicle operator who is at least 18 years of age or older when riding trails. Federal regulations 36 CFR subpart 261.13 (a) directs the Forest Service to follow vehicular laws as mandated by each state.

        * Motorcycles and ATVs must have a properly functioning muffler and USFS approved spark arrestor.

        * Everyone must wear a DOT, SNELL or other approved helmet and protective eyegear on all city and Village Streets.

 

        * No alcoholic beverages may be consumed or carried.

        * Obey all signs, gates, and barriers.

        * Stay on marked trails.

        * Only enter and exit the trail systems at the trailhead or designated connector marked for the events.

 

        * Do not enter a no trail, no entry or gated area.

        * Drive or ride at a speed reasonable for conditions.

        * Stop when signaled by a Ranger/ Police or Rally Staff.

        * Carry photo identification at all times.

        * Adult supervision is required for those under age 18.

        * Do not litter. Carry it in/ Carry it out!!

        * Display user permit on your person at all times.

        * No fires.

        * No camping on the trails.
