Dec. 2006 we met with some of THE FRIENDS of IRONTON to discuss starting an ATV club. There was eight of us that attended that meeting and was wanting to be envolved with an ATV club. We talked for about two hours.
Jan. 2007 we met again trying to lay out a plan.
Feb. 2, 2007 The meeting started by taking nominations for officers, there was sixteen of us then. Voted ,and elected three officers, president, vice president, secretary/ treasure. Then we started to plan for our ROCK n' ROLL RALLY for April.
There was many meetings putting together our rally, long story short in April we had our first ROCK n' ROLL RALLY and it was a big hit in the area. The trails at Wayne National Forest opened for the season the week before the rally.
Media coverage by Herald Dispatch in Huntington,WV., Ironton Tribune in Ironton and WSAZ TV 3 out of Huntington, WV. before and during the event was great they did a lot for our club.
Local sponsers from around the area helped to bring everthing together.
WNF allow us to have our rallies on the forest trails. We work with WNF cleaning trails and road ways and letting the rangers know if there are any trees down or other problems before and after the rallies. The club will be having classes at WNF to learn trail patrol and other types of work.
WE now have fortyeight memberships and most are family memberships. At any given time there is always some one ready to ride all it takes is a phone call or e-mail. Thats why we wanted to form a club in the first place.
As of Oct. 22, 2007 we completed our second rally, every one had fun. Now its time to start thinking about the next one in April.
